or store credit. We want to be the best in children’s consignment and serve
our consignors well. Recess wants consignment to be easy for you…bring
in your nicest children’s clothing and earn 40% of anything that sells
in the store!

Recess understands that life is BUSY, so we want you to have a
productive appointment. We also want your clothing to sell successfully.
You will benefit by following our consignment guidelines:

  1. Make an appointment. Call during the first week of any given month to receive an appointment time during that month. We will go through your items while you wait. Appointments take no more than 30 minutes. (If you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment it will need to be rescheduled due to back to back appointment times.)

  2. Bring items that are seasonal. Each part of the year we focus on different items. February – July: spring/summer, August – January: fall/winter. Just ask if you have questions about seasonal requirements.

  3. Check your items over before your appointment time. Recess is a small shop, so we are highly selective. Items must be clean, current, and in excellent condition. We accept boys and girls clothing, shoes, and accessories newborn – size 10. We do not take toys, books, movies, or equipment such as strollers, pack n plays, high chairs or bedding.

  4. Help us to help you in having a successful appointment.
    - Bring in items neatly folded in bins, laundry baskets, or boxes. No hangers or trash bags please! You may bring up to 30 items per appointment. A set (matching top and bottom of the same size) counts as only 1 item.

    - Bring your best items only. DO NOT bring items with obvious wear or fading, missing buttons, broken zippers, stains, or tears. Any items found to be damaged after initial inspection will be sold at clearance price or donated at the discretion of Recess.
If these guidelines are not followed, we may turn you away at your appointment time to better serve our customers and other consignors.

  5. We will handle the pricing. Recess determines prices based on the retail value and the condition of the clothing item. You earn 40% of the selling price which can be used in store credit or taken in the form of a check.

  6. Watch your items sell. Clothing items remain at Recess for 60 days. Items may be marked down 25-50% during this time. Any items that do not sell may be picked up at the request of the consignor or we will donate to a local charity.

  7. Check in on your consignment account. Once items begin to sell, you may use store credit as it builds or take a check 60 days after your initial consignment appointment. Checks may be picked up at Recess. Please call us if you are going to pick up a check.
